Ava's official birthday (yesterday) was a good day. Mommy got a job offer :) I resigned from my current position this morning and I begin the new job on Monday! I'm really excited about it. I'm going to have to adjust to sitting at a desk all day on the phone...I think it's going to pay off though. I'm looking forward to all the challenges that this position offers and I feel like it'll actually test my skills, which is a good thing. The big bonus though - only 10 minutes from the new house!!
Unfortunately, I had to leave work early yesterday to bring Ava to the doctor for the first time ever (aside from well-baby checks). She made it a whole year & then this happens on her stinkin' birthday :( Her eye was swollen yesterday morning and as the day progressed her eye got worse and she developed a fever. Poor baby (I can still call her a baby!). Doc said that it looks like an infection (viral I think) and b/c it's around her eye we're treating it with some super antibiotics. He wants to catch it b/f it spreads INTO her eye - that would be very bad. So, we're keeping an eye (ha) on it. She's back to her normal self today as far as her mood goes so I'm having fun spending the day with her. She blows me kisses from across the room and says "hi." Aww. Her eye still looks pretty rough though...
We did learn that she weighs 22 lbs 12 oz at the appointment...Her 12 month appt is on Friday so we'll get the rest of the stats at that appt.

That stinks about her eye infection. Poor little girl. You'll have to post more details about your new job when you get a chance.
